Airbnb - Official connection (via API)

Pre-requisite: create your Airbnb account

If you do not have yet an Airbnb account, please create one on the Airbnb page. You don't need to create any listing.

If you already have an Airbnb account, you can directly go to the connection steps.

1. Go to Airbnb.com and click Sign up
2. Fill your host information in Airbnb: photo, description, bank information.
3. Accept the community commitment and terms of service
4. Add your photo
5. Confirm your phone number
6. Confirm your email address

Connection steps

NOTE: if you have at least one connected Airbnb account, you can follow the steps described in the Add a new Airbnb account section instead.

1. Install the Airbnb app available on our App Center, from the Apps section of your account.
2. Open the app and authorize BookingSync to communicate to it.

   

3. Click on Connect an Airbnb account

   

4. Enter your account credentials (if you have more than 1 account to connect, you can add them afterwards) and click on Connect with Airbnb

   

5. Agree to the Airbnb Additional Terms of Service and click on Allow.
   

   

Your account is now connected with the official Airbnb sync.

Add a new listing to a connected Airbnb account

1. Drag and drop your BookingSync properties from the left side to the right side to the grey zone "Drop here for official Airbnb synchronization" for new and existing listings.
   

   

2. Update the listing settings in the Airbnb app in BookingSync, by clicking on change settings. Here you will find:
   • the cancellation policy: You can choose between Flexible, Moderate, Strict, Super Strict 30 and Super Strict 60 - Details at https://www.airbnb.com/home/cancellation_policies - Careful that super_strict cancellation policies cost 5% commission instead of 3%.
   • cleaning and extra pax fees
   • the min advance notice (by default 2 days)
   • the weekly and monthly discount
   • the number of changeover days
   • the house rules
3. Make sure there is no warning
4. Wait for the email from Airbnb saying "Publish your listings on Airbnb", open it and click on "Publish listings"

   
   Or go to your Airbnb account > Host > Listings > BookingSync Sync.

5. On the Airbnb listing sync page -READY TO PUBLISH- you’ll see each listing that was imported from BookingSync, you need to choose:
   • CONNECT TO: The Airbnb listing you want each listing to be connected to. VERY IMPORTANT: If your listing already exists on Airbnb you must choose from the DROP DOWN MENU the corresponding listing. Leave "New listing" ONLY IF the listing doesn't exist yet.
     Please note that if you select "New Listing" no reviews will be shown as it will be a brand new listing.
   • SYNC FROM BOOKINGSYNC: The type of sync you want to apply: EVERYTHING (full sync) or LIMITED (only your BookingSync rates and the calendar will be synced).   
6. Select the properties you want to publish and click on PUBLISH NOW.
   

   

You listings will be live right away!!

TIP: You can mark-up the rates and override the rental content sent to Airbnb in Settings > Application

Remove a listing from the Airbnb sync

1. Go to the Apps section and Airbnb
2. Find the listing your want to disconnect
3. Move your mouseover the "check sign"that will turn into Disconnect

   

4. Click on Disconnect. You arrive on your Airbnb account, section BookingSync Sync.

   

5. On the right side of the listing you want to disconnect, click on the ... sign and Stop Sync.
   

   

6. Your listing is automatically unmapped on BookingSync side BUT please note that your listing will still be live on Airbnb side. You can then deactivate it directly from your Airbnb dashboard.

NOTE: If you want to remove/disconnect a listing from your Airbnb app which is still not published on your Airbnb dashboard (it is shown on the "Ready to publish" section), you will need to publish it to be able to disconnect it. Please remember that your listing will still be live on Airbnb side. You can then deactivate it directly from your Airbnb dashboard.

Add a new Airbnb account

NOTE: If you need to import listing(s) from your new Airbnb account, use the alternative sync instead and then migrate it to an official account.

1. Go to the Airbnb app, available in the Apps section of your account.
2. Click on Connect an Airbnb account. Note that if you are already connected to your Airbnb account, this account will be connected by default.

   

3. Follow the steps from 4 to 5 of the previous section Connection steps

TIP: if you want to import your listing from Airbnb, you need to use our hybrid connection.

Disconnect BookingSync from your Airbnb account

If you want to stop the official sync between Airbnb and BookingSync, you need to disconnect BookingSync from your Airbnb account.

1. In your Airbnb account, open your Account Settings
   

   

2. In Connected Apps, open BookingSync and click on Remove app
   

   

Remove an Airbnb account in BookingSync

Once your have removed all the rentals from the sync and disconnected the BookingSync in your Airbnb account, you can remove this account from the Airbnb app in BookingSync.

1. Go to the Airbnb app
2. Find the email of the account you want to remove
3. Click on the trash icon on the right side of the email
4. Confirm
