Sharing transactions with owners
The owner app allows you to share rental transactions with the owners you invited (See article about the owner's access).
There are 2 types of transactions that can be shared:
- paybacks: how much the manager owes to the owner for each reservation
- payments
How to add the payback for reservation
- In your BookingSync dashboard > Bookings edit any booked reservations
- Fill in the information Payback to owner on the bottom right. IT'S IMPORTANT to add this field for the payback to be recorded in the Transactions and Reports. Note that if you add the payback to the owner after the booking is canceled it will not show in Reports.
- Click Update
IMPORTANT: In case the reservation has been canceled the payment to the owner doesn't change. According to your cancelation policy, you need to update canceled booking.
How to add a payment
- To add the payment go to the Apps section of your account and click on
Owners
- Click on the owner's name
- Click on
Add payment
in the top right - Enter the payment information
- Paid at: payment date, any past day
- Amount
- Currency: choose the currency used in your account
- Payment method: every time you record a new payment method, it will appear in the dropdown list
- Click on
Add Payment
The payment is now recorded in the transaction list
How to view the transactions
- Go to the Apps section of your account and click on
Owners
to open the app - Click on the owner name
- Click on
Transactions
- Choose the currency (optional)
You will see all the transactions, profit, and loss, arranged by the transaction date. At the bottom, you will see the total amount you owe to the owner: positive number in green for credit and negative in red for debit.
How to check monthly reports
The owner app also allows you to see and share monthly reports with the owners. The monthly reports consist of:
- Nights rented: number of nights reserved by guests
- Occupancy: rented nights divided by the total number of nights in the month
- Average nightly rate: total rent divided by the nights rented. Please note that this information could be limited if there is a reservation but no nights rented (for example, for any cancellation with cancellation fees)
- Rent: monthly payback rate
How to view a monthly report
- Go to the Apps section of your account and click on
Owners
app - Click on the owner name
- Click on
Reports
- Choose the rental, year and the currency
The report is displayed with the details per month and total amount per year
