Welcome to our manual article where we will break down the pricing structure for using Smily. We understand that transparency in pricing is crucial for our valued customers, and we're here to guide you through our pricing model and what it means for your monthly invoices.
How does the Pricing Model work
Our latest pricing structure aims to be aligned with your business's success, to allow you to grow successfully with Smily. The new pricing model takes into account your Gross Booking Value (GBV) and adjusts your monthly fee accordingly.
How will you be charged for using Smily?
Each month, you will receive two invoices for your Smily subscription:
Minimum monthly subscription invoice: issued on your account renewal date.
This invoice includes:
- Your subscription payment for the upcoming month, based on the number of rentals in your account and your pricing plan
- Any addition rentals added to your account since the previous renewal, that were not covered in the previous subscription payment
Adjustment invoice for the GBV based commission: issued in the first week of every month.
This invoice is for any remaining balance to cover the GBV-based commission payment for the previous month. The invoice amount is calculated as:
[GBV based commission due for the previous month] - [subscription amount already invoiced in the previous month]
How is your subscription amount calculated?
Minimum monthly Subscription amount (charged at account renewal)
Your minimum monthly fee is calculated from the number of rentals in your account and your Smily pricing plan. All rentals in your account are included in the subscription calculation, including unpublished rentals.
Your Smily pricing plan defines the rate per rental, depending on how many rentals are in your account. Each plan also has a minimum rate per rental & a minimum rate per account which defines the minimum price that will be charged at renewal.
GBV-Based Commission
The total price for your Smily subscription is based on a percentage of your GBV from the previous calendar month. This commission percentage is set based on your Smily pricing plan.
The GBV is calculated based on the rental price (excluding fees) of all confirmed bookings with check-out date in the previous calendar month (from the 1st to the 31st).
Example of a Smily Subscription calculation
Let's consider an example for a Smily subscription for the month of August
- The minimum monthly subscription is 300€, based on the number of rentals in the account
- The account renewal date is 10th day of the month
- The GBV for August was 45,000 EUR.
- The commission rate is 1%
To calculate the total price due for the month of August, we apply the commission rate of 1% of the GBV:
1% of 45,000 EUR = 450 EUR
This means that the total monthly fee for August will be 450 EUR.
This will be charged in two monthly invoices:
Minimum monthly subscription invoice: 300€.
Issued on 10th August (account renewal date) for the monthly subscription from 10th August to 10th September
Adjustment invoice for the GBV based commission: 150€
Issued in the first week of September.
The amount of this invoice is calculated by: commission due for August [450€] - subscription payment already invoiced in August [300€] = 150€
