1-way and 2-ways sync
Every channel works in a different way, so some of them offer a 1-way sync and others offer a 2-ways sync.
For 1-way sync connections, always from BookingSync to the channel, you still receive by e-mail the inquiries from the portal, then you need to manually add the bookings to your BookingSync calendar and then, the information is spread to the other portals.
For 2-ways sync connections, you directly receive the bookings or tentative bookings in your BookingSync account and they are automatically sent to the connected portals. For example: If you have a booking in your Airbnb account, it blocks automatically and instantly your BookingSync calendar and if you define a booking in your BookingSync calendar or have a booking from another portal, it blocks automatically and instantly your calendar in Airbnb. Thus, the calendar in BookingSync becomes your SOURCE calendar as it pushes all the bookings to the connected portals.
Inquiries, confirmed, instant & tentative bookings
1-way sync (always from BookingSync to the Channel):
- Inquiries: they are not synchronized with BookingSync and will arrive directly in your email account.
- Confirmed bookings: they are not synchronized with BookingSync. You will need to create them on BookingSync manually (ideally right before confirming them on the channel).
- Instant bookings: they are not synchronized with BookingSync, and therefore we highly recommend to avoid Instant Bookings for channels with 1-way synchronization.
- Tentative bookings: they are not synchronized. For example: TripAdvisor is made to be on request so we then don't push tentatives.
- Availability: Once a new booking is added within BookingSync, availability will be updated on the channel (time varies based on the channel).
2-ways sync (BookingSync <> Channel):
- Inquiries: they are not synchronized with BookingSync and will arrive directly in your email account.
- Confirmed bookings: they are synchronized with BookingSync and will arrive directly in your BookingSync dashboard (Bookings section).
- Instant bookings: they are synchronized with BookingSync and will arrive directly in your BookingSync dashboard (Bookings section).
- Tentative bookings: they are synchronized with BookingSync and will arrive directly in your BookingSync dashboard (Bookings section).
- Availability: it is synchronized with BookingSync. Once a new booking is added within BookingSync, availability will be updated on the channel instantly.
