Using Zaps could help you with the following daily tasks:
- Sending a receipt with Quickbooks, Xero, Freshbooks, etc., once the balance has been paid
- Updating your MailChimp newsletter subscribers with each new client
- Collecting your traveler's arrival time with Typeform and updating the booking
- Sending your travelers a reminder text message with Twilio 24 hours before the arrival
- And many more !
These connections created between the apps are called Zaps.
Two options to create a Zap :
Every time you create a Zap, you have the possibility to test it to make sure it runs as you want it to. Zapier will run the Zap through a recent booking or event that happened in your Smily account.
Please note that the test will not work for an empty Smily account, a fake booking must be created via the website for example, in order to run the test.
Smily can be used as a trigger or as an action app.
Smily as a trigger app
Smily can generate different triggers to an action on a third-party app, they are the following:
- New Inquiry
- New And/Or updated client
- New And/Or updated booking
- New And/Or updated payment
-
New review received
Smily as an action triggered by a third-party app
Smily can be triggered by a third-party app performing the following actions:
- Create a client
- Update a booking
- Create an inquiry
- Create/update a payment
- Add a review
Optional: Add a Search Step
During the Zap creation process, you may need to add a search step in order to retrieve missing information required for your action.
You can search for:
Find a client by email
-
Find a booking by date
🆕 Zapier Integration Updates
October 2025: Major Integration Update
We added powerful new actions to help you automate even more workflows.
1. Combine multiple actions in a single step
It is now possible to:
Update a booking
Update client details (emails and phone numbers)
Create a booking comment
… all within a single Zapier action.
Example: This allows you to automatically process check-in forms (for example via Tally), even without a dedicated check-in application.
2. Update an existing client
Previously, Zapier only allowed you to create new clients in Smily.
You can now update the information of an existing client.
December 2025: Selective Booking Tag Updates
Since December 2025, we have released an update that allows you to selectively modify booking tags within the Update Booking action.
You can now choose exactly:
Which tags to add
Which tags to remove

This provides much more precise automation control (for example, adding a “Check-in Completed” tag without removing existing tags).
These improvements make Zapier even more flexible and powerful for property managers.
📣 Stay tuned — more actions and resources will be available soon!
