Smily Inbox lets you translate messages between you (Property Manager) and travelers so you can communicate clearly even when you don’t share the same language.
This feature covers both:
- Translating incoming traveler messages into your preferred language
- Writing your reply in your language and translating it into the traveler’s language before sending
Why this is useful (benefits)
- Save time: no need to copy/paste into external translation tools.
- Reduce misunderstandings: clearer communication means fewer back-and-forth messages and fewer mistakes.
- Reply confidently in your own language: write naturally, then translate only when needed.
- Serve international travelers better: improve guest experience and response quality.
Translate a traveler’s message into your preferred language
When a traveler writes to you in a language you don’t understand, you can translate their message directly from the conversation.
How it works
- Open the conversation in Inbox.
- On the traveler’s message, click Translate (or the translation option shown in the message).
- The message is displayed in your preferred language.
Example
- A traveler writes in Spanish (or another language).
- You translate it and read it in English or French (depending on your preferred language setting).
Write in your language, then translate your reply for the traveler
You can also translate your outgoing message before sending it, so the traveler receives it in a language they understand.
How it works
- In the reply box, write your response in your preferred language.
- Click Translate on your drafted reply.
- Review the translated version.
- Send the translated message to the traveler.
Why this matters
- You don’t have to write in a foreign language.
- You can keep your message tone and content accurate, while still communicating in the traveler’s language.
Translate into another language (optional)
If needed, you can translate a message into a different language (not only your default preferred language). This is helpful if:
- You manage multiple properties with different traveler profiles, or
- You want to understand a message in another language for verification.
Tips for best results
- Always review the translated text before sending, especially for important details (times, addresses, house rules, payment terms).
- If a translation looks unclear, consider rewriting the original sentence more simply and translating again.
