Important update
Please note that modifications are being enforced by our service provider and that the following modifications are necessary to ensure the sending of notifications using your domain name. All changes needs to be completed by February 14 2024.
Useful information
BookingSync allows you to use your own email address to send your notifications. The configuration needs to be done to authorize BookingSync to send emails on behalf of your own email address.
Steps
You'll need to add Dkim and DMARC records and verify ownership of your sending domains before you can send email through your account, you can follow the instructions here to configure your email address to authorize the sending of the notifications. It's very important to follow exactly the instructions.
Step 1 - Add a DKIM:
1. Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com
* with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com
, and another with the name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com
* and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com
Please note that a dot may be required at the end, ex:
Step 2 - Add a DMARC
To Enable DMARC:
1. Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with a host of _dmarc.yourdomain.com
* and a value of v=DMARC1; p=none
*Some domain hosts automatically add 'yourdomain.com' after the initial value — contact your domain provider for any specifics
Important: Once this is done, please contact us so that we can verify the domain on our side
Last steps:
- Let us know the name + email address (example: "My company" <info@mycompany.com>) you’d like to use, so we can send the verification email to this address
- When you receive the verification email with a link to click, please copy it to a ticket here so we can finish the configuration.
- After we confirm it's OK, you'll have your own email address in the From drop-down list of the notifications. Do not forget to select or change it.
If you need any assistance with this configuration, please contact our support team and we will be happy to assist. Just make sure you have the access to your registrar.
