To start accepting credit card payments though Stripe, you need to set-up the connection.

Get your Stripe API key
To get the needed Stripe information, follow these steps:
- Go to the Stripe website and log in to your account.
- Clic on
Developers
on the top right - Then click on
API keys
- Then click on
Reveal production key
- Click on
reveal
- Click on the API key to copy it. It's now on your clipboard!
Integrate your Stripe informations in Smily
- In your Smily account, go to the Settings > Payments section.
- In the Accept Credit Card paragraph, clic on
New credit card payment Gateway
- Select Stripe
- Enter the required information:
- Name: internal name for the payment gateway. Ex: Stripe + name of my owner
- Secret key: paste the one you got on previous step 6
- Supported currencies: the currencies used in Smily (make sure they are compatible with Stripe)
- Accepted Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
- Clic on
Add credit card payment gateway
- Don't forget then to Verify that your configuration is OK.
Don't forget to assign the payment gateway to your rentals in the Private tab.
Activate the ability to send payment data to the Stripe API
- Contact our support team to ask the "SAQ-D" documentation for the Stripe integration.
- Once you have the document, log into your Stripe account and send it to the Stripe support team, letting them know that you'd like to activate the feature

. - Once Stripe has given their approval, in the Stripe search bar, type
integration
, click onSettings / Integration
- Click on
Show advanced options
- Activate the toggle :

- Tick the three checkbox
- In the dropdown menu, select
I collect payment information securely through a PCI compliant third party vendor
- Put the name of the third party vendor:
Smily
. Then click on Continue - Stripe might asked you to set you phone number and validate it through a code sent by text.
Note
Smily is PCI-DSS compliant, and does NOT store credit card in any way, transactions are going through secured servers as per the PCI-DSS standards. We process transactions with bank-level security, and the settings you turn on your Stripe payment gateway account does not change our system behaviour.
